Engine Room Simulator – Operational Level (D.G. Approved)
The onboard Engineer Officer plays a crucial role in ship operations, requiring good knowledge of modern machinery and equipment prior to assuming responsibility as an independent watchkeeper. As technology continues to advance, leading to a increased use of U.M.S. Class vessels, the reliance on instrumentation and controls becomes ever more significant.
The swift and adept response of the watchkeeper to critical situations and abnormalities is paramount to ensuring the safety of the vessel. To address these demands, a three-day mandatory course endorsed by DG Shipping India has been established for junior marine engineers. This comprehensive program, aligned with the engine resource management and STCW training requirements revised in 2010, equips engineers with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of modern maritime operations effectively.
