High Voltage Safety And Switch Gear At Operational Level (D.G. Approved)
The maritime industry is witnessing a significant surge in the demand for electrical power, particularly onboard ships employing diesel-electric propulsion systems. With such propulsion systems, conventional shipboard voltages of 440V prove inadequate as the supply current escalates to levels beyond practicality and efficiency.
To address this challenge, modern ships, including container vessels, passenger liners, LNG carriers, and specialized offshore vessels, are now equipped with high voltage generating plants ranging from 3.3kV to 11kV. According to STCW standards, high voltage is classified as 1000V and above, underscoring the critical need for proficient personnel to manage such systems.
In accordance with STCW Regulation III/2 for Chief and Second Engineer Officers and Regulation III/6 for Electro-technical Officers, specialized training is mandated for those working with high voltage installations aboard merchant ships. Our comprehensive course is meticulously crafted to educate and empower Management Level Officers and Electrical Officers in navigating the complexities of high voltage systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.
